In the Corridor of Champions: Dr. Gichambira Gikenye

For the last 34 years, he has been lecturing anatomy at the University of Nairobi. If you happened to have trained BScN, B.Pharm, MBChB, or BDS at University of Nairobi, you may be familiar with his inaugural anatomy lecture on ‘adduction’ and ‘abduction’. Dr. Gichambira Gikenye has contributed greatly to the profession and the society at large. The corridor of champions recognizes his efforts and celebrates him today.

Apart from being an anatomy and orthopaedic lecturer at the University of Nairobi, he is also a founding member of Surgical Society of Kenya and Kenya Orthopaedic Association. He still serves as a council member of the Kenya Orthopaedic Association.

His devotion to the christian faith is admirable. He is a committed member of the men’s prayer group at Nairobi Baptist Church. He has also been an active associate of Medical School Christian Union-UoN.

Sir, you have been phenomenal throughout the years in dedicating your time to train many medical professionals. Your charisma in delivering concepts of anatomy has made it easier for many to fall in love with the unit. Thank you for modelling dedication, selflessness, and humility to young professionals.
